What is the most important information I should know about Adalat?
• Do not stop taking Adalat without first talking to your doctor, evenif you begin to feel better adalat lok. If you stop taking the medication, your conditioncould become worse adalat lok.

• Do not consume grapefruit or grapefruit juice during treatment with Adalat adalat lok. Adalat can interact with grapefruit and grapefruit juice, and the interactionmay have dangerous effects adalat lok. You should discuss the use of grapefruit and grapefruitjuice with your doctor adalat lok.
What is Adalat?
• Adalat is in a class of drugs called calcium channel blockers adalat lok. Adalatrelaxes (widens) your blood vessels (veins and arteries), which makes it easierfor the heart to pump and reduces its workload adalat lok.
• Adalat is used to lower hypertension (high blood pressure) and to treatangina (chest pain) adalat lok.
• Adalat may also be used for purposes other than those listed in thismedication guide adalat lok.
What should I discuss with my healthcare provider before taking Adalat?
• Before taking Adalat, tell your doctor if you have
· kidney disease;
· liver disease;
· another disease of the heart or blood vessels such as sick sinus syndrome,aortic stenosis, heart failure, low blood pressure, or coronary artery disease adalat lok.
• You may not be able to take Adalat, or you may require a dosage adjustmentor special monitoring during treatment if you have any of the conditions listedabove adalat lok.
• Adalat is in the FDA pregnancy category C adalat lok. This means that it is notknown whether Adalat will be harmful to an unborn baby adalat lok. Do not take Adalat withoutfirst talking to your doctor if you are pregnant or could become pregnant duringtreatment adalat lok.
• Adalat passes into breast milk adalat lok. Do not take Adalat without first talkingto your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby adalat lok.
• If you are over 65 years of age, you may be more likely to experienceside effects from Adalat adalat lok. Your doctor may prescribe a lower dose of this medication adalat lok.
How should I take Adalat?
• Take Adalat exactly as directed by your doctor adalat lok. If you do not understandthese directions, ask your pharmacist, nurse, or doctor to explain them to you adalat lok.
• Take each dose with a full glass of water adalat lok.
• Adalat CC should be taken on an empty stomach adalat lok.

• Occasionally, the Procardia XL tablet shell may be seen in the stool adalat lok. This is not harmful adalat lok. The medicine has been absorbed by the body and the tabletshell is designed to be eliminated in the stool adalat lok.

• Store Adalat at room temperature away from moisture and heat adalat lok.
What happens if I miss a dose?
• Take the missed dose as soon as you remember adalat lok. However, if it is almosttime for the next dose, skip the missed dose and take only the next regularlyscheduled dose adalat lok. Do not take a double dose of this medication adalat lok.
What happens if I overdose?
• Seek emergency medical attention adalat lok.
• Symptoms of a Adalat overdose include dizziness, weakness, chest pain,shortness of breath, fainting, an unusually fast or slow heartbeat, coma, slurredspeech, and confusion adalat lok.
What should I avoid while taking Adalat?
• Do not consume grapefruit or grapefruit juice during treatment with Adalat adalat lok. Adalat can interact with grapefruit and grapefruit juice, and the interactionmay have dangerous effects adalat lok. You should discuss the use of grapefruit and grapefruitjuice with your doctor adalat lok.
• Follow any recommendations your doctor makes about diet or exercise adalat lok.
• Use caution when you stand or sit up from a lying position, especiallyif you wake up during the night adalat lok. You may become dizzy when changing positions adalat lok.
• Use alcohol cautiously adalat lok. Alcohol may further lower blood pressure andincrease drowsiness or dizziness while taking Adalat adalat lok.
What are the possible side effects of Adalat?
• If you experience any of the following serious side effects, stop takingAdalat and contact your doctor immediately or seek emergency medical treatment:
· an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; closing of the throat;swelling of the lips, tongue, or face; or hives);
· unusually fast or slow heartbeats;
· severe dizziness or fainting;
· psychosis;
· yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice); or
· swelling of the legs or ankles adalat lok.
• Other, less serious side effects may be more likely to occur adalat lok. Continueto take Adalat and talk to your doctor if you experience
· headache, fatigue, or tiredness;
· flushing;
· insomnia;
· vivid or abnormal dreams;
· nausea or constipation; or
· increased urination adalat lok.
• Side effects other than those listed here may also occur adalat lok. Talk to yourdoctor about any side effect that seems unusual or that is especially bothersome adalat lok.
What other drugs will affect Adalat?
• Before taking Adalat, tell your doctor if you are taking any of the followingdrugs:
· another heart medication to treat the same or another condition;
· cimetidine (Tagamet, Tagamet HB);
· erythromycin (E-Mycin, E.E.S., Eryc, Ery-Tab, others);
· itraconazole (Sporanox) or ketoconazole (Nizoral);
· carbamazepine (Tegretol);
· phenytoin (Dilantin); or
· rifampin (Rifadin, Rimactane) or rifabutin (Mycobutin) adalat lok.
• You may not be able to take Adalat, or you may require a dosage adjustmentor special monitoring if you are taking any of the medicines listed above adalat lok.
• Drugs other than those listed here may also interact with Adalat or affectyour condition adalat lok. Talk to your doctor and pharmacist before taking any prescriptionor over-the-counter medicines, including herbal products adalat lok.
