What is the most important information I should know about Adipex?

What is Adipex?
• Adipex is a sympathomimetic amine, which is similar to an amphetamine adipex xp. It is also known as an "anorectic" or "anorexigenic" drug adipex xp. Adipex stimulates the central nervous system (nerves and brain), which increasesyour heart rate and blood pressure and decreases your appetite adipex xp.
• Adipex is used as a short-term supplement to diet and exercise in thetreatment of obesity adipex xp.
• Adipex may also be used for purposes other than those listed in thismedication guide adipex xp.
Who should not take Adipex?
• You cannot take Adipex if you
· have heart disease or high blood pressure;
· have arteriosclerosis (hardening of the arteries);
· have glaucoma;
· have taken a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) such as isocarboxazid(Marplan), tranylcypromine (Parnate), or phenelzine (Nardil) in the last 14days; or
· have a history of drug or alcohol abuse adipex xp.
• Before taking this medication, tell your doctor if you have
· problems with your thyroid,
· an anxiety disorder,
· epilepsy or another seizure disorder, or
· diabetes adipex xp.
• You may not be able to take Adipex, or you may require a lower dose orspecial monitoring during treatment if you have any of the conditions listedabove adipex xp.
• It is not known whether Adipex will harm an unborn baby adipex xp. Do not takeAdipex without first talking to your doctor if you are pregnant adipex xp.
• It is also not known whether Adipex passes into breast milk adipex xp. Do not takeAdipex without first talking to your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby adipex xp.
How should I take Adipex?
• Take Adipex exactly as directed by your doctor adipex xp. If you do not understandthese directions, ask your pharmacist, nurse, or doctor to explain them to you adipex xp.
• Take each dose with a full glass of water adipex xp.
• Adipex is usually taken once or twice a day before a meal on an emptystomach adipex xp.
• Do not take Adipex in the evening because it may cause insomnia adipex xp.

• Never take more of this medication than is prescribed for you adipex xp. Too muchAdipex could be very dangerous to your health adipex xp.

What happens if I miss a dose?
• Take the missed dose as soon as you remember adipex xp. However, if it is almosttime for your next dose or if it is already evening, skip the missed dose andtake only your next regularly scheduled dose adipex xp. A dose taken too late in the daywill cause insomnia adipex xp. Do not take a double dose of this medication adipex xp.
What happens if I overdose?

• Symptoms of a Adipex overdose include restlessness, tremor, rapid breathing,confusion, hallucinations, panic, aggressiveness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea,an irregular heartbeat, and seizures adipex xp.
What should I avoid while taking Adipex?

• Other, less serious side effects may be more likely to occur adipex xp. Continueto take Adipex and talk to your doctor if you experience
· restlessness or tremor,
· nervousness or anxiety,
· headache or dizziness,
· insomnia,
· dry mouth or an unpleasant taste in your mouth,
· diarrhea or constipation, or
· impotence or changes in your sex drive adipex xp.

• You cannot take Adipex if you have taken a monoamine oxidase inhibitor(MAOI) such as isocarboxazid (Marplan), tranylcypromine (Parnate), or phenelzine(Nardil) in the last 14 days adipex xp.
• Changes in insulin and other diabetes drug therapies may be necessaryduring treatment with Adipex adipex xp.
• Adipex may reduce the effects of guanethidine (Ismelin) adipex xp. This could leadto an increase in blood pressure adipex xp. Tell your doctor if you are taking guanethidine adipex xp.
• Before taking this medication, tell your doctor if you are taking a tricyclicantidepressant such as amitriptyline (Elavil), amoxapine (Asendin), doxepin(Sinequan), nortriptyline (Pamelor), imipramine (Tofranil), clomipramine (Anafranil),protriptyline (Vivactil), or desipramine (Norpramin) adipex xp. These drugs may decreasethe effects of Adipex adipex xp.
• Drugs other than those listed here may also interact with Adipex adipex xp. Talkto your doctor and pharmacist before taking any prescription or over-the-countermedicines adipex xp.
